Workshops - Worcester Music Festival

As part of Worcester Music Festival 2025, The Elgar School of Music is opening its doors for a day of interactive workshops, performances, and musical discovery. Located in the heart of Worcester, the school is housed in specially adapted buildings featuring well-equipped studios and a recital room designed for both individual tuition and group activities.

On Saturday 13 September, from 12 pm to 5 pm, festival goers are invited to explore one of the county’s leading arts organisations. Whether you are new to music, returning after a break, or continuing your professional journey, this is a unique opportunity to explore what The Elgar School of Music has to offer!

What’s On

Throughout the afternoon, a variety of sessions will be available for all ages and experience levels:

  • Introduction to Brass, led by Ed Malpass
  • Musical Theatre Singing Workshop, led by Stuart Inglis
  • Strings Workshops
  • Informal performances from teaching staff
  • Open practice rooms with instruments available to try, and teachers on hand to offer guidance and answer questions

These sessions are ideal for anyone considering learning a new instrument, exploring new musical styles, or simply looking to reignite their passion for music. Everyone, from families, individuals and curious newcomers, will be warmly welcomed as they meet the team and learn more about how to get involved with The Elgar School of Music.
