Hundreds of bands descended on Worcester in September for the annual Worcester Music Festival in aid of \u00a0St. Paul’s Hostel homeless charity. Festival goers, volunteers and venues donated money throughout the weekend, leading to the festival raising an impressive \u00a34,109 for the charity.<\/p>\n
The charity is planning to put in place in scheme in which they help those in their care learn to play a musical instrument.<\/p>\n
Nicola Boraston, Festival Director said:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u201cWe are absolutely delighted to be able to present this donation to St Paul\u2019s Hostel. The entire team pulled out all the stops this year to raise the total and we know that the money will go a long way towards supporting this really worthwhile cause.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Jonathon Sutton, Chief Executive of St Paul\u2019s Hostel said:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of everyone at the charity, I would like to say a big thank you to Worcester Music Festival for supporting us through this year\u2019s event. The money raised will make a huge difference to us and will be put to very good use in months and years to come.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
During the festival weekend, volunteers could be found with donation buckets whilst the charity team caught eyes and attention in their fantastic fancy dress. From Vikings and Les Trunkwells to butterflies and 1920’s flappers, they were an impressive sight that helped raise the sum.<\/p>\nWMF Charity Team<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
St. Paul’s Hostel has been striving for the past 40 years to support the homeless by providing 24 hour emergency care whilst also supporting those at risk of homelessness. Within the last three years, the amount of people needing support has increased by 30%, demonstrating how crucial the festival’s support has been.<\/p>\n
The festival team would like to offer their thanks to those who helped to make the weekend a success and those who came to experience all that it has to offer and we promise that next year will be even better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
