About Young Jazz Workshop
During this informal Jazz workshop, Peter will introduce participants to concepts and ideas found in Jazz playing, singing and improvisation. This will allow you to develop your abilities as a Jazz musician or provide a starting point for those who are eager to learn. Please bring along your own instrument and/or voice for this session. Must be at least Grade 3 standard or equivalent. All instruments welcome!
All ages from 12 upwards welcome!
Places can be reserved at workshops@worcestermusicfestival.co.uk with a return email address, participant name and phone number. Alternatively, you can take your chances on the day!

Originally from Worcestershire, Peter Johnson is a freelance trombonist currently studying Jazz at Leeds College of Music. Pete has played in a wide range of groups from the Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Leeds College of Music Big Band, to “Blues Armada” and “The Cugini’s”; the resident band at Subtone nightclub, Cheltenham. Pete also leads his own band “Second Line”, which can be seen performing around the Worcestershire area.
