Have you always wanted to join a choir? Now's your chance! Helen Russell makes it so easy! Your nerves will disappear, as you throw caution to the wind and immerse yourself in song. Helen encourages beautiful music out of singers all over the county. You don't need any ability whatsoever, no singing experience, no need to be able to read music. Adults and children welcome. We'll be learning a fun, well-known, pop song, and by the end you'll even be singing in harmony! The workshop will be followed by a concert by the fantastic Express Yourself Pop Choir and Show Tunes Choir. Stick around to see them perform, and if the mood takes you, you can join in and show Worcester what you have learnt. There will be refreshments between the events to raise money for the WMF 2012 Charity. All ages welcome. Reserve place at: workshops@worcestermusicfestival.co.uk with a return email address, participant name and phone number or take your chances on the day!
More info
Helen Russell is a Worcester-based music teacher who, for the past three years, has run the highly successful Express Yourself Community Choirs at Lyppard Grange Community Centre in Worcester. The choirs have a 'no audition, no minimum ability' policy, and members come from all over Worcestershire. The choirs make fantastic music and Helen creates a warm and friendly environment for previously reluctant singers to be nurtured and encouraged.
The Express Yourself family consists of Pop Choir, Show Tunes Choir and Glee Club. Helen also runs the fabulous Crowngate Community Choir at the Elgar School of Music, and teaches piano and singing to children and adults around Worcester.
