History of Worcester Music Festival

How it all began

Borne from a desire to bring together and showcase the city's burgeoning musical talent, Worcester Music Festival was launched in 2008 by Not Just Sauce promoter Chris Bennion and has been growing year on year.

Worcester Music Festival is a non-profit making event, run by an enthusiastic team of 25+ volunteers, largely local musicians or people associated with the Worcester music scene.

Not only does it provide a showcase for local musical talent, but it provides education and professional development opportunities through a variety of workshops and masterclasses.

Each year, the festival also supports a local charity and, since 2008, nearly £20,000 has been raised for local charities, £7,030 in 2011 alone for the city's Maggs Day Centre, a lifeline for the homeless, vulnerable and socially isolated.
